UCC wishes to appoint a visionary leader, researcher and teacher in Theatre to the position of Senior Lecturer (the appointee will be expected to act as Head of Department on commencement and in the future as required); an energetic and committed individual willing to lead the Department of Theatre at UCC to the next level. The successful candidate should be in a position to support practice-based research which may include (but is not limited to): Contemporary Directing/Devising Practices; Physical Theatre / Dance; Playwriting / Writing for Performance; Dramaturgy; Applied Theatre; Intercultural Theatre & Performance, Interdisciplinary Performance; Theatre Management/Producing. S/he is expected to have a proven record in academic leadership. As Head of Department (when assuming this role) and part of a lively teaching team of practice-based researchers, s/he will coordinate and develop emergent postgraduate studies opportunities as well as rejuvenate, drive and develop UCC’s Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Performance Practices.

Appointment may be made on the Senior Lecturer Salary Scale: €67,778-€94,983 (Scale B); €65,481-€90,360 (Scale A). In all instances the successful appointment will be at the first point of the scale.
