Dr Siobhán O’Gorman (she/her) is Head of Department of Design and Visual Arts at the Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Dún Laoghaire, Dublin. She was a core member of the international Gate Theatre Research Network (funded by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research) from 2017 to 2021, a Moore Institute Visiting Fellow at the University of Galway in 2018, and a Government of Ireland Postdoctoral Fellow at Trinity College Dublin from 2013 to 2015. Her work has appeared in several books and such journals as Studies in Theatre and Performance, Irish Studies Review and the Journal of Adaptation in Film and Performance. In 2021, she co-edited a themed issue of RISE (Review of Irish Studies in Europe) on connections between Irish and European culture at the Dublin Gate Theatre (with Elaine Sisson and Ian Walsh) and a special double issue of the journal Scene on Performance and Ireland (with Marie Kelly and Áine Phillips). Her books include Devised Performance in Irish Theatre (2015, co-edited with Charlotte McIvor) and Theatre, Performance and Design: Scenography in a Modernizing Ireland (forthcoming).
