UCC wishes to appoint an experienced practitioner whose practice-based expertise will complement the existing DTS staff profile.
We seek a dynamic, creative and engaged individual who will contribute to practice-based modules in our undergraduate programme. The successful candidate will hold a Masters Degree in an area of Applied Theatre and have a track record in one or more areas of Applied Theatre. S/he will have responsibility for the teaching across the programmes and co-ordination of applied theatre modules and be able to assist with the technical aspect of productions within the department, for example, production management, lighting design, scenography.
At undergraduate level, Drama & Theatre Studies has a core commitment to practice-based teaching involving theatre performance. These productions are a major commitment of time and resources for students and staff alike. Additionally, we have a historic and developing teaching profile in applied theatre, and wish to consolidate this emphasis on youth theatre, community theatre, theatre in education, street theatre and drama in education.
Reporting to the Head of Department, the Lecturer in Applied Drama and Theatre will have responsibility for the teaching and co-ordination of applied theatre modules and be able to assist with the technical aspect of productions within the department, including production management, lighting design, scenography.
