Irish Society for Theatre Research

The Irish Society for Theatre Research was constituted on 14 April 2007. It was born with the aim to facilitate research on Irish theatre in its national and international contexts understanding “Theatre Research” as research into drama and performing arts. ISTR also aims to facilitate interdisciplinary research between theatre studies in Ireland and the wider community of theatre and performance studies in its international contexts. ISTR organises meetings, conferences and symposia annually, as well as publishing a journal: Irish Theatre International.

It is formed by scholars worldwide. Full details of ISTR’s Executive Committee can be found here.

Individual membership of ISTR is open to any person who undertakes to promote the work and support the objectives of ISTR and who accepts the Constitution.
